A passionate author who writes about her love of travel. She really seems to have mastered the art of ‘Travel Hacking’ - and getting around the world on a budget. This is a great resource with lots of travel websites and packing tips. Read it and be inspired to travel more!
This book is not only easy to read, it's exciting, and I feel like it was written just for me. HA! I'm not a world traveler in reality, though in my heart I am. In fact, this year I'm traveling overseas for the first time in over 30 years. Melissa's stories of her own travel adventures and lessons learned around the world, as well as the very approachable way in which she has addressed pretty much every fear I've had make me feel very prepared for my upcoming trips this year. I was certainly worried about expenses (got some of that taken care of through credit card points). I was also worried about hotels, mass transit, currency exchange - basically everything. It's no wonder I've been dragging my feet about traveling abroad. This 54-page book (such a quick and helpful read) has left me feeling incredibly optimistic about everything. I've got this. If you want to step outside of your comfort zone and see the world you're so curious about, pick up this ebook and start planning your trip(s)!
As a well-travelled woman, I still picked up plenty of invaluable advice and tips in this handy book. Rather than a "how-to" instructional, Melissa guides you through her own personal experiences, in an entertaining and engaging manner. A fabulous read, not only for women new to travelling solo, but also for those with plenty of air miles under their belt.
I thought this was a great little book (I read it in about an hour) with easy-to-access practical advice, and valuable links to other resources. I've done a bit of traveling in the past, but still found several suggestions I'm planning on implementing.
Definitely THE BEST guide I have ever read. It's thoughtful, insightful, and the knowledge it brought me is invaluable.
Melissa does an excellent job at laying things out for the beginner traveler. She gives you the push that you need to leave the nest and travel the world. The resources she provides will help even the most experienced traveler get to their destination!
......but as they say, it's never too late. This is a great little travel book because it's a really user friendly experience for general reference....... the next time I travel, want to investigate a future trip or for getting the ball rolling on a trip I've been wanting to take for a long time. I often feel overwhelmed by the thought of all the resources I need to accomplish a project, even a trip which is a happy experience, a desired goal. Not to worry, everything you need to get going is right here. With all the great links (strategically placed in each section she is talking about) you can just start with the book every time and research an aspect you are working on, from the where to go, how to book it, what are best deals, practical considerations (currency, local transportation, essential clothing/accessories) you can just leave the book for a bit to do some virtual exploring. Melissa tells great personal stories, offers advice and encouragement (like not speaking the language and how to overcome) and lays it out logically. It doesn't take long but with the reference links you can wander off the page, just like on a trip. She even intersperses quotes throughout, appropriate to the section (who knew potato chips were in a quote?). Well worth the time and money. Thanks Melissa
